Who is a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner?


A Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, often referred to as PNP, is a healthcare professional who has gained specialized skills and knowledge regarding childcare. PNPs need to be registered with their state’s regulatory authorities to be allowed to practice the profession legally. Common duties of a PNP include taking care of ill children, assisting in child birth procedures, taking care of the infant, informing parents about preventive healthcare measure for children and often conducting seminars and awareness programs relating health of children in the society.
