What are the necessary skills required for a successful computer forensic career?

Computer forensics is an extremely demanding career stream for individuals graduating with accredited degrees in criminal justice from online or traditional degree awarding institutions in the U.S. A vast majority of students graduating with degrees in criminal justice opt to work in the law enforcement sector as police and highway patrolling officers. Whereas, a fraction of these criminal justice degree holders choose to work in the field of computer forensics due to stringent criteria used by employers in this highly challenging but rewarding career stream. Some of the necessary skills required by future employers in this career stream include knowledge of data analysis, cryptology, network protocols, and software engineering.
