What to Expect from a Degree in Animation?

The Associate in Applied Science (AAS) in Animation and Time-Based Media and the Associate in Applied Science (AAS) in Media Arts with a focus on Digital Animation requires completion of around 62 to 74 credits. As part of the program, students study a range of topics such as Digital Photographic Imaging, Digital Storytelling, Digital Fabrication, and 3-D Modelling for Animation. The degree can be typically completed in two years.

The Bachelor of Arts (B.A) in Animation introduces students to a range of modules such as Digital Art, Fundamentals of 2-D Computer-Based Animations, History of Animation, Writing for Animations, and Motion Graphics. After completing the program, students will be able to understand the animation process and will be able to market their animation capabilities.

The Master of Arts (M.A) in Animation provides a combination of technical and artistic training that prepares program participants for careers in visual effects, computer game art, traditional animation, and 3D character animation. The curriculum of the program covers an array of topics such as Animation Mechanics, Title Design, Hybrid Animation, and Advanced Storyboarding.

How to Choose an Animation Degree?
