To receive basic EMT training, you can enroll into a 3-6 month certification or diploma course. These courses will give you a basic knowledge of the procedures that you will be required to perform as an EMT while practical training will also be given. You will still need to sit for the official state EMT examinations if you wish to work as a registered EMT professional.
