Cerritos College
Cerritos College is a two-year institution that offers Associate’s degrees and various certificates. The College also offers high school students the opportunity to take classes through the Visa Program. Students in the program may apply to take classes in the summer and during the regular school year. The college offers degrees and certificates in 87 areas of study in nine divisions. There is also a student-run radio station, WPMD. The majority of students are of Latin American descent, and there is a sizable Asian population as well.
The mission of college is teaching and in pursuance of the mission, the faculty has established a distinguished record of scholarship, research and publication. But most important is that they are dedicated professors. Cerritos College attracts students directly from high school, besides accommodating the returning student who may have been out of school for many years. The college serves first generation college students as well as college students with a college family tradition.
