Founded over 40 years ago, Central Texas College is a public, open-admission community. In 1965, the citizens of Central Texas joined together to authorize the building of a community college. The campus was constructed on 560 acres of land and Central Texas College opened its doors with an initial enrollment of 2,068 students in the fall of 1967. The number of students and the location of offerings have steadily increased since that time. With its main campus in Killeen, TX and over 100 other locations around the world, Central Texas College serves over 50,000 students on military installations, in correctional facilities, in embassies and on ships at sea.
